Corelating two seemingly unrelated events, might look ridiculous. But science does have it’s own explanations in the form of Chaotic theory.

Why Butterfly?

“You step on a butterfly today, Millions of people are killed in a bomb blast years later”. Butterfly Effect co-relates two seemingly unrelated events seperated by a chunk of time. We can also put it like this. Something very bad and upsetting happens to you today, which might have been the factor that triggered a chain of events that ultimately puts you in a favourable and pleasant scenario.

I am enthusiastic about computers. And hence I chose Computer Science for my high school. I expected to choose the same discipline for my under graduate degree. But fortunately or unfortunately I didn’t perform up to my mark in my entrance exams and hence ended up in NIT Trichy and in Chemical Engineering. I have a weakness in Chemistry. But that what happened resulted in something good.

I got selected in the college computer club Delta, one among the most prestigious and successful clubs in the campus. This would not have been possible if I wasn’t a NITTian and if my branch wasn’t Chemical. I have a chance to learn more about Computers in the way I like it best. By trying it out. And that without being in the Computer Science Department! I am also saved from the Computer Science Theory exams which are so very boring as per those in the Computer Science Department.

I don’t know about you. But my mind keeps talking, keeps on taking even if I am not listening. When I am thinking, when I am bathing, idling, and sleeping?
Well, I don’t know if it is talking when I am sleeping. May be not. It too needs rest, doesn’t it.

So what does it talk?
My mind keeps talking of what I did today, what it made me do today (it made me write this today), how it felt and how I responded. When I don’t listen, it talks of why it is important for me to listen to my mind. When I lose concentration and start day dreaming, it pulls me back. The mind is like an inner voice, a negative feedback that keeps track of you on your way to destiny.

We have seen people talk to themselves. When alone and nothing is there to keep you busy, take a book and pen and listen,  to your mind’s monologue. It isn’t easy. But try. Write it down. When at a later date you go through what you have written you may well be filled with disbelief.

Laugh when you are happy and Cry when you are sad.
The mind makes you feel the way you feel. You experience the happiness of your mind. You may be capable of suppressing your emotion. Smiling when you feel like crying.

“Hiding emotions won’t make you someone special, it just takes you away from being human”.

The final word.
Have you observed how a person does his job when he knows that he is being noticed and when he doesn’t.

The unnoticed mind is like the employee who thinks that nobody is noticing him.

The employee works at a pace slower than he is capable of. But when he notices that he is being noticed, then matters are way different. But things aren’t different with the mind. Your mind is your silent and obidient employee, it can be your partner an equal, but not your boss, manipulating the way you think.

This might not be new to you. The world (markets) is in chaos. The markets are tumbling, refusing to recover. We are in a state of disbelief. Not many are sure of what is happening and what to do. Everyone seems to ask the same question, “Can safety be guaranteed? “. I am also answer-less, but of course am jobless to try and give it a shot. So I thought and bought magazines to read and understand what has been happening. Well, it seems the magazine too doesn’t have answers, sparks and suggestions that make you think, and find your own answers. So I thought again and then this weird equilibrium came to my mind.

Nothing from the Science Books
Now don’t think this is some chemistry mystery from those dusty books of mine. No absolutely not. But of course, there is always inspiration.
I suppose you know what is equilibrium. I remember to have learnt it as, “there seems to be no change in the macroscopic level, but there is change in the microscopic level“. Oh, that is dynamic equilibrium. So, what’s static equilibrium? There is no CHANGE. No change? Then why was Obama elected, you may ask. (May ask if you are thinking in lines with me). Because America needs a change, or rather need to restore/rollback to an earlier restoration point.

Equilibrium and the Globe, Where’s the connection?
It’s like the state of India. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. We can’t say money is neither created nor destroyed. I am not sure what is that factor or parameter that is neither created nor destroyed in the economic world. What I understand from the Economic Crisis is that, money vanished and people do not know where it went. After much search over the internet, I realise what happened. I turn to my mother and tell her what I found. She promptly returns an answer, “Not exactly, I think it’s like this….”. Left me baffled. Well, it’s my mom!

So this is about that?
Related, not the same. The crisis shows us the Globe’s attempt to attain equilibrium. Not all countries can be at the same status in all domains at the same time. They can be, but only for a fleeting amount of time. There will be so much tension, resulting in a burst and we will witness the failure of several countries in domains like finance for instance. If improvement of a group of countries is observed, then we can also notice governments of several other countries at a loss. After the housing bubble burst, America and most Americans are in a pretty bad financial shape. So we shall be noticing (or might have noticed), the rise of new powers, probably in the east (like China maybe).

So America’s next President, Obamaji (No! not Osamaji ) is expected to bring a CHANGE, or rather to ROLLBACK, so that America can climb back to it’s throne of Supremacy (if it remains empty untill then).

The mind has always been complicated. Do you control your mind? or Does your mind control you? There are many such questions that have not been answered properly. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t have a proper answer. We are yet to find that answer. “Where is the source for the answer(s)?”, made me write this post.

We have heard about the conscious, the sub-conscious and the unconscious. During the eve of the last exam of my third semester, there was excitment in the air. One more day, and we could go home. There was also tension, as no one wanted to ruin the day, by screwing up the exam. My friend was studying late into the night, taking short naps from time to time.

I advised him to sleep so that he doesn’t feel tried during the exam and could perform properly and present the answer sheet as he expects to. He replied that he had lots of portion to read up and had to stay awake.

My reply to this was,

“The answer to every question challenging your conscious mind can be found in you unconscious mind. When you learn or discover something, you are moving it to the conscious mind which is easily accessed whenever needed in the near future. With time, when not revised, it moves to the sub-conscious. Hence, it takes some time for you to retrive it and bring it to the conscious mind. Similarly it is possible to find answers to any question from your unconscious mind. Find the link between the conscious and the unconscious and successfully bringing the answer you need to the conscious part of your mind is the onerous task. But once you succeed then it is the ultimate ability.”

Of course, these thoughts were not from my unconscious mind but from the sub-conscious. I think, I heard it in some movie. Well, but this thought is interesting.

“Cut the crap. I have an exam to study for”, my friend replied. He delved into his books and I onto my cozy bed.

Process Calculation isn’t a very difficult subject and neither is it a taxing subject. In fact it is a boon in disguise as it carries ‘4′ solid credits. A ‘S‘ would mean a lot to the GPA. Yet post examination, I found the spirit, the joy missing in me.

This article is not about Process Calculation. Not een about what I was feeling after the examination. Rather it is about what I have realised today.

It is that time of the year when all time management lessons, the proverbs and the hindi essays, I learnt during school days haunt me. I too felt I had not utilised my time properly and have landed in a state I experience after an underprepared examination.

I wanted to write this, put pen on paper and make a mark, so that I don’t dare try to attain this state again. I felt I had learnt enough of how to dawdle and it was time to learn to use time efficiently and effectively. I feel I can be a better person, not just someone sticks to his books and just academic books all the time and fails to what he expects to achieve at the climax. Every mistake adds up to your experience. It is awful to make the same mistake and experience the same experience, because there are many more unexperienced experiences out there.

I am not deleting this. This default post by WordPress, marks the beginning of the philosophical blogging age of mine. After blogging technology (Novice Investigator) and my daily experiences (sparks of philosophy The Daily Stumber), this is my third and hopefully everyweek updated blog. Most of the blogs shall be related to philosophy, thoughts thought after daily activities. Now that should do the job of a good introduction.
